Where are my contacts?

I had to restore my PC back to the factory software and then install MS Office 2007. I then restored my most current outlook.pst and archive.pst files and "pointed" my Outlook to the 2 files. That worked fine and I have all my old emails, archive, and calendar entries. BUT - my Contacts and Address Book show as empty. Where are my contacts and how do I point Outlook to use them?

Outlook 2007-My Contacts are no longer missing
by: Charlie

During recovery of my PC (including MS Office 2007), I launched my Outlook 2007 and pointed it to the outlook.pst that I restored using my EaseUS TODO backup/restore software. But - my Outlook 2007 Contacts came up missing as I described in my initial posting. So what I did was... I clicked "import" on the main Outlook 2007 file menu and pointed the import to a backup .pst file that was previously created by the Outlook Backup app that I downloaded/installed from Microsoft a couple of years ago. That app automatically backs up my Outlook and Archive .pst files every 7 days (I chose 7 days) when I am shutting down Outlook for the night. I was not able to import from the in-use outlook.pst file (no surprise there). The import displayed the internal items in that backup .pst file (outlook.bak, I had named it) and I selected only "Contacts" from the available items. The import said that it worked OK and I shutdown and re-launched Outlook 2007. My Contacts were no longer missing - YEA!

Outlook Contacts

When you did the backup how did you back up the .pst file? If you did an export you may not have selected the contact folder. If is is just the .pst file you may have put the contacts in a different folder. This link may help as well. http://www.msoutlook.info/question/826
