In Publisher, you can create a custom color scheme to use within your publication, or use one of the various built in color schemes. You will find the options for color and font schemes in the Schemes section of the Page Design tab.
In the image above, you can see the built in options available for your publication. The one we are currently using, Civic, is highlighted. Select the down arrow next to the color schemes to scroll through the various options.
Just below the down arrow, there is a down arrow with a line over the top. This is the More button. Click this button to customize your color scheme.
This will open the full list of all the Built-in schemes that come with the Publisher application. To customize your own color scheme, select Create New Color Scheme, located at the bottom of the drop down menu.
This will open the Create New Color Scheme dialog box.
In this dialog box, you click the color drop down button next to each color cue for each category shown in the Scheme colors section on the left.
You have the option to update the Main, Accents, and Hyperlink colors.
When you are done updating the colors, you can assign a name to the custom color scheme by typing it in the Color scheme name text box.
Click Save to update your publication with the new color scheme. When you do that, the custom color scheme will then appear as a selection within the Schemes group on the Page Design tab.
You can edit or delete your custom color scheme by right clicking on it. Select Edit or Delete from the menu that opens.
Similarly, you can change the Font scheme as well. Select the Font drop down button in the Schemes section of the Page Design tab.
You can scroll down through the various Built-In font options or select Create New Font Scheme at the bottom to customize your own.
This will open the Create New Font Scheme dialog box. Customize your font scheme by selecting a Heading font and a Body font. A sample will be shown in the Sample box to the right. Name your custom font scheme by typing it in the Font scheme name text box. Click save when you are finished.
You can now find your custom font scheme in the Fonts drop down menu in the Custom section (located at the top).
