Convert Word 2007 files to PDF

This task was more difficult with the previous versions of Word. You had to purchase software to create a PDF file. With Word 2007 Microsoft has made this easy. Once you have created your document and would like to finalize it into a PDF file click on the Office Icon in the upper left corner.

  1. Place your mouse over the Save As option.
  2. In the right navigation pane click on the option that says PDF or XPS. This will open the Publish as PDF or XPS window.
  3. This is a browser window for you to select the location you would like your PDF file saved in. Browse to the folder and type the name of your file in the text box. Click the Publish button to convert and save the file.

How to add a picture to your header/footer

Adding a picture to a header/footer in your Word 2007 document works the same was as inserting a picture into the document itself. Create a header/footer in the Header & Footer section of the Insert tab. Click the down arrow on either the Header or Footer button and select the style of header/footer you would like to insert. If you just created your header/footer it should still be selected. If not double click the header/footer to make it active. In the insert tab there is a section titled Illustrations. In this section click the type of picture you would like to insert into your header/footer. Make your selection and the picture will be placed in the document in the header/footer section. Resize the picture to fit into the header/footer and double click back in the body of your document to activate the body.

How to perform automatic saving of your word 2007 files

In Word 2007 you are able to set your automatic save options. To do this click on the office icon in the upper left corner of your Word 2007 document. At the bottom of the menu click on the Word Options button. The Word Options window will open. Click the save selection from the left navigation pane. In this window you can change how often the document will be saved and what the file location will be.
